Your Letters & Pictures

From James R. Cook, President & Ceo of Children International

Dear Gianni,

Thank you for your email! And thank you for all you do for the
seven children you sponsor. That is so great!

I enjoyed your website...it is very well done and your enthusiasm,
energy and PASSION for the sport of "futbol"
is quite apparent...and I applaud it!

Both of my sons (now ages 23 and 16) played soccer extensively,
and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their games.
The continuous, fluid action of soccer makes it a delight to watch.
(I once read that people outside the U.S. had trouble warming up to American football because of all the starts and stops.
And when you think about it, it is very odd how a play might take
a few seconds and then there is another 30 second break
for a huddle etc.)

In addition to the soccer my sons played, I have been fortunate to
travel the world extensively and have always enjoyed being in other
countries at World Cup time...talk about passion!
Your site that talks about the atmosphere for the AC Milan games
is no doubt right on the mark...I think it's safe to say that it is
unlike anything most U.S. sports fans have ever witnessed.

I might also add that we have a lot of soccer garb in the boys'
closets...I often had requests from my sons to pick up Ajax
sweatshirts or Real Madrid jerseys (which aren't cheap, I might add)
in my travels. I'll see if I can kindle some interest in AC Milan!

It is also obvious that your passion extends to helping others less
fortunate...we appreciate all you do and are pleased we can
be a part of it.
I was flattered and humbled by your statment: "Thanks for your
effort with the children and for making us better people."
People like you make this world a better place; I'm just thankful
we can help you make a difference, and I assure you that
I've seen what a difference you and others like you are making.

Thanks again for your generosity and compassion, and for sharing
a little bit of your world with us!
